Law has an eye: Chief Justice of India has removed the blindfold of the goddess of justice!
New Delhi: ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಕಾಣ ಸಿಗೋದು ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆ. ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬೇಧ ಭಾವ ಮಾಡದಂತೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ (Goddess of Justice) ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಬಂದ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ, ಉಳ್ಳವ ಇಲ್ಲದವ ಎಂಬುದು ನ್ಯಾಯ ದೇಗುಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾನ ಎಂಬರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ಭಾರತದ ಯಾವುದೇ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ನ (Supreme Court) ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಡಿ.ವೈ. ಚಂದ್ರಚೂಡ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಿಜೆಐ ಡಿ.ವೈ. ಚಂದ್ರಚೂಡ (D Y Chandrachooda) ಇಂತಹದೊಂದು ಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ ಕಣ್ಣಿನ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ತೆಗೆದು ಹೊಸ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗದ ಬದಲು ಭಾರತದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ನೀಡಲು ಕೂಡ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಿಜೆಐ (CJI )ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅನಾವರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸದ್ಯ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಮೂಲತಃ ರೋಮ್ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ. ಇದು ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ರೋಮ್ನ ಆಗಸ್ಟಸ್ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ಜಸ್ಟಿಸ್ (Lady of Justice) ರೋಮನ್ ಪುರಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಜಸ್ಟಿಟಿಯಾ ಎಂಬ ದೇವತೆ. ಅವಳು ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿ 16ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿ ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಯ್ತು. 16ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಿಂದಲೂ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆ ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ.
ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅನೇಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ನಲ್ಲಿ (Court)ಇದೇ ನ್ಯಾಯದೇವತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೋರ್ಟ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು . ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿನ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿದ, ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವ ನ್ಯಾಯ ದೇವತೆಯ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ.

New Delhi: Usually when we go to the court, we don’t get to see the goddess of justice there. The eye of the Goddess of Justice was tied there so that no one would ever be discriminated against. Among the accused, the poor is the rich, the rich and the poor are equal in the temple of justice, meaning that the eyes of the goddess are tied with a cloth. CJI D.Y. Chandrachooda (D Y Chandrachooda) has given such an instruction to all the courts of the country. Henceforth, he has issued an order to remove the eye cloth of Nyayadevata and put her in a new form. Not only that, they have also asked to give Indian constitution instead of sword in the hands of Nyayadevata. As per the order of the CJI, a statue of the new justice deity has already been unveiled in the library of Supreme Court Justices.
The image of the goddess of justice seen in our country was originally an idea of the Roman Empire. It was found for the first time in the Augustan Empire of Rome, the Goddess of Justice, the Lady of Justice (Lady of Justice) is the goddess Justitia in Roman mythology. She is the ruler of justice.This goddess of justice was blindfolded for the first time in the 16th century. Since the 16th century, Nyayadevata has been in a similar form blindfolded and holding a sword in her hand.
In the courts of many countries of the world, the same goddess of justice was placed in the court. But henceforth one can see the statue of Nyaya deity with open eye patch and constitution in hand.
