ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಸೀಝಾದ ಇಂಜಿನ್‌ನನ್ನು ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದಂಧೆಕೋರರು, ವಿಜಯಟೈಮ್ಸ್‌ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ, ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಅಲ್ವಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ (Alwin D-Souza) ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ದುರುಳರು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಹಲ್ಲೆಯಿಂದ ಅಲ್ವಿನ್ ಎಂಬುವವರ ಬಲಗೈಗೆ ಗಾಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಾವು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ಸ್‌ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆವು. ಎಂಎಲ್‌ಸಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದೆವು. ಆಗ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ ಎಫ್‌ಐಆರ್‍ (FIR) ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದರು.
ಖುಷಿಯ ವಿಚಾರ ಏನೆಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದ ಹಲ್ಲೆಯಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಂಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಉಳಿಯ ಪಾವೂರು (Uliya Pavur) ಸುತ್ತ ಮುತ್ತ 2ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಮರಳುಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು (Sand Mafia) ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ರು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಆದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಲಾಟೆ ಆಗೋದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಬಲವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಇದೆ. ಅದೇನು ಗೊತ್ತಾ? ಈ ದಾಳಿ ಆಗುವ ಎರಡು ದಿನದ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ವಿಜಯಟೈಮ್ಸ್‌ ತಂಡ ಈ ಮರಳು ದಂಧೆಕೋರರ ಬೇಟೆಗೆ ಇಳಿದಿತ್ತು.
